The Role
- Collect, verify, and reconcile daily cash, cheque, and credit card collections from all outlets and departments.
- Prepare daily bank deposits and ensure timely submission to the bank.
- Maintain accurate records of cash receipts, petty cash, and float funds.
- Conduct surprise float counts and cash audits as required.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures comply with resort policies and internal controls.
- Reconcile daily cash summaries with Opera/POS/system reports.
- Investigate and report any cash discrepancies immediately.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation for all cashiering records.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other operational departments regarding cashiering matters.
- Assist in processing monthly payroll for all associates accurately and within deadlines.
- Verify attendance records, overtime, allowances, deductions, and leave records.
- Ensure payroll processing complies with Malaysian labour laws, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and associate information.
- Prepare payroll reports, bank transfer listings, and statutory submissions.
- Coordinate with People & Culture on new hires, resignations, salary adjustments, and payroll updates.
- Respond to associates payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Assist during internal and external audits related to payroll and finance matters.
Talent Profile
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hotel finance, cashiering, or payroll operations.
- Knowledge of Malaysian payroll statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
- Familiar with hotel systems such as Opera, or other POS/accounting systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
- Honest, reliable, meticulous, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required during payroll periods or month-end closing.
