We are seeking an experienced General Equipment Operator to support offshore coiled tubing and pumping operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining coiled tubing equipment, assisting in rig-up and rig-down activities, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring all operations are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with operational procedures and customer requirements. The role also involves supporting offshore job execution, equipment preparation, housekeeping, inspection, and mentoring junior operators while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate all coiled tubing equipment, including coiled tubing support equipment and flowback packages.
- Supervise pumping or other related operations that do not involve coiled tubing activities.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all coiled tubing associated equipment.
- Assist in rig-up and rig-down activities and support operational activities during job execution.
- Carry out maintenance, replenishment of stores, and housekeeping activities in the workshop and operational areas.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Provide instruction and guidance on the proper operation of tools and equipment used on-site and in the workshop.
- Learn to independently operate and maintain downhole tools.
- Complete required task updates and documentation in the Competency Management System (CMS).
- Conduct pre-job and post-job equipment inspections.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections prior to mobilization.
- Ensure all high-pressure iron is properly banded and carries valid inspection dates.
- Follow instructions for spotting and positioning equipment at job locations.
- Support safe crane and rigging operations during service delivery in accordance with customer requirements and KPI standards.
- Perform hydrostatic testing on Blow Out Prevention (BOP) equipment and reels during pre/post job procedures and preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor well control parameters and perform necessary operational calculations before and during job execution.
- Mentor and train junior Equipment Operators.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
- Participate actively in Quality Improvement initiatives and safety programs.
- Ensure operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with company procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6–7 years of experience as an Equipment Operator, specifically in Coiled Tubing and Pumping Services.
- Minimum skill certification or equivalent technical qualification.
- Valid offshore certifications and safety training are an added advantage.
- Strong experience in coiled tubing and pumping services operations.
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain downhole tools and related equipment.
- Good understanding of offshore operational and safety procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in offshore environments.
