General Manager, Accounting

We are seeking a General Manager, Accounting to lead the organisation's accounting and financial management functions, ensuring strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and the integrity of financial reporting. The role serves as a strategic business partner to Management, providing financial leadership and insights to support organisational sustainability and decision-making.

Job Description

1. Strategic Leadership & Financial Stewardship

• Lead the overall accounting and financial management functions, including budgeting, tax, financial operations, management accounting, and financial reporting.
• Provide strategic financial leadership to support organisational objectives, business growth, and long-term sustainability.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial governance, policies, controls, and reporting frameworks.

2. Financial Planning, Performance & Reporting

• Oversee the organisation's budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of management and statutory financial reporting.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate governance practices.
• Strengthen financial risk management and internal control frameworks to safeguard organisational interests.
• Lead engagements relating to audit, regulatory reviews, and compliance matters.

4. Stakeholder & Advisory Management

• Act as a trusted financial advisor to Senior Management on financial, commercial, and governance matters.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with auditors, regulators, financial institutions, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
• Support Board, Management, and stakeholder reporting requirements through clear financial analysis and recommendations.

5. People Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing accounting team aligned with organisational priorities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
• Drive capability development and succession planning within the Accounting function.
