Job Description

Club21 Malaysia is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead the overall strategic, operational, and financial performance of the business. The ideal candidate will bring deep leadership experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive excellence across retail operations, brand experience, and cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement the approved Strategic business, Financial and Operational plans to achieve sales and profitability targets in consultation with the COO.
  • Plan and develop collaborative partnerships with various business within the COMO Group (where applicable) to further enhance business efficiency, revenue growth and develop greater customer affinity with the COMO Brand.
  • Lead and manage digital transformation and omni-channel initiatives across various functions / operations within the business that supports improved productivity, better cost-management, enhanced customer experience and/or revenue growth.
  • Prepare annual country budgets and brand(s) OTB and monitor performance against the approved budgets and plans in consultation with the Regional Merchandise Planner and COO.
  • Prepare annual marketing & CRM plans and monitor performance against the approved budgets and plans in consultation with the Regional Marketing Director, COMO Club and Group Office.
  • Ensure all Marketing & CRM plans, initiatives and communications reflect the brand values of COMO and Club 21.
  • Manage and present Monthly and Quarterly Business Review.
  • Review country budgets and forecasted financials on a regular basis with the COO and Group VP Finance.
  • Responsible for the overall operations of the assigned country.
  • Highlight potential breakthroughs in areas of cost improvement or revenue growth during planning process.
  • Analyze market, competitor and customer to support the strategic planning process.
  • Implement, review and improve Internal business control and processes
  • Lead and champion all digital transformation initiatives that would help improve productivity, grow revenue, improve retail service delivery and overall business efficiency
  • Supporting the development of a collaborative performance based culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development
  • Review and manage Brand(s), vendor and/or supplier and tenancy agreements to ensure best suitable business terms.
  • Lead and manage an effective strategic and planning process for each seasonal buy for the various brand(s) that meets our customer needs and successful achievement of sell-through targets.
  • Ensure that the country retail operations continuously delivers exceptional service, inspiring ambience and maintains high retail standards at all stores.
  • Provide leadership guidance, development and coaching to team members and encourage individual development especially amongst Direct Reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all country specific government regulatory requirements.
  • To undertake ad-hoc projects assigned by the COO.

Qualifications

  • Masters / Degree in Fashion, Retail Management, Brand Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years experience in fashion or luxury retail, including store/cluster/brand management with full P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record in driving sales and improving profitability across multiple brands and stores.
  • Deep understanding of luxury clienteling, VIP relationship management, visual merchandising and brand standards.
  • Inspirational leadership skills in hiring, coaching and developing high-performing retail teams with a hands-on floor presence.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, comfortable using data and CRM insights to make decisions and action plans.
  • Excellent communication skills with an outgoing personality.
