General Manager who leads and manages a data center company or a specific data center division, with responsibilities including strategic growth, operations, sales, and customer satisfaction. This senior-level role involves overseeing business development, managing customer relationships with hyperscalers and colocation providers, and ensuring the smooth operation of data center infrastructure to meet client needs and evolving market demands. Key Responsibilities: 1. Business Growth: Identifying market opportunities and driving commercial growth for data center solutions and services. Develop and oversee the implementation of medium to long term strategies for the Data Centre business to ensure growth and profit opportunities are compatible with key objectives and within acceptable risk standards Identify and investigate new investment opportunities and developing appropriate investment strategies to capitalise on opportunities to enhance the growth of the Data Centre business and assets Identify and execute upon existing and new tenant relationships to secure opportunities Make high-quality investment decisions to advance the business and drive investment returns Provide input and execute on the business plan for all new opportunities, ensuring alignment with business strategies Facilitate collaboration between the development management, fund management, project management, construction teams and other vertical disciplines to ensure achievement of overall business objectives and growth of the business Steward capital investment into building sufficient process capability and capacity to support the business, continually improving quality and uniformity of offerings, improving operating effectiveness and reduce excesses and complexity in the environment 2. Stakeholder Management & Engagement Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including clients, partners, investors, government authorities and an internal organizational network), building networks and leveraging relationships in order to support the long-term strategy and maximise opportunities Understands key stakeholders, the relevance of the project to each group, and effectively gathers their input to ensure buy-in and support. Able to effectively resolve conflict to maintain strong working relationships POSITION DESCRIPTION GENERAL MANAGER - 2 - Build and maintain deep network of contacts within industry and knowledge of potential clients, tenants and investors Engages and influences Executive leadership in strategic decision-making Develop and manage stakeholder and relationship strategies, including government relations Create a customer strategy and value proposition that supports the asset class and services as well as the investment portfolio Publicly represent the company with the media and external constituency groups including industry, governmental, and investment organizations and build excitement for the company's business and mission Cultivate relationships with strategic partners to secure recurring revenue streams 3. Customer Acquisition & Support: Finding new tenants or clients, managing their needs, and providing excellent customer service. 4. Operational Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of data centers, including supply chain, infrastructure, and client amenities. 5. Strategic Planning: Developing and executing long-term strategies, balancing growth with client satisfaction and operational excellence. 6. Technical Oversight: A strong understanding of data center products, services, and technical requirements, such as cooling and power solutions. 7. Team Leadership: Nurturing talent within the team and guiding staff to achieve business objectives. Qualifications: Proven Leadership: A strong track record in senior management roles. Technical Acumen: Experience or knowledge in data center operations, services, or related technical fields. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build trust and support with top-level management and key decision-makers. Result-Focused: A drive to achieve business objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Strategic and Tactical Ability: The capacity to balance high-level strategic thinking with practical, day-to-day delivery. Strong knowledge and experience in development / product management of data centers. Detailed understanding of Data Centre market with emphasis on development, investment and fund management Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
