GENERAL MANAGER – SPECIAL PROJECTS

Role Summary

The General Manager – Special Projects will lead the end-to-end execution of large-scale capital and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline, quality, and safety standards. The role requires strong leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders while driving strategic project alignment and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee large-scale infrastructure and capital project delivery.
• Manage project planning, execution, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ensure projects comply with safety, regulatory, governance, and quality standards.
• Drive stakeholder management across internal teams, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
• Oversee contract administration including FIDIC-based contracts, claims, disputes, and contractor performance.
• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation and business continuity strategies.
• Ensure project reporting, governance compliance, audit readiness, and documentation management.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and foster a high-performance work culture.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align project execution with long-term business objectives.
• Manage cost control, financial accountability, and project performance monitoring.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• PMP certification or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects exceeding RM100 million.
• Strong exposure to port, logistics, engineering, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven experience managing contractors, consultants, vendors, and government stakeholders.
