Job Description

Role Purpose

To provide strategic and operational leadership of Duopharma Group's R&D function, driving cost-effective innovation, robust regulatory-ready development, and differentiated specialty capabilities, while ensuring alignment with Board direction and business strategy.

1. Innovation & R&D Execution Framework

  • Design and execute a cost-effective R&D innovation framework, including portfolio prioritisation, stage-gate governance, and resource optimisation.
  • Establish operational targets and KPIs to drive productivity, speed-to-market, and development success rates.
  • Embed risk-based decision-making and QbD principles across R&D.

2. Export Dossier Quality & Regulatory Readiness

  • Lead initiatives to improve export dossier quality for:
  • Core (Classic) therapeutic groups
  • Strategic therapeutic groups
  • Key Consumer Healthcare brands
  • Ensure dossiers meet global regulatory standards (ACTD/CTD) with reduced deficiency cycles.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs to strengthen submission strategy, response quality, and approval timelines.

3. External Research & Academic Collaboration

  • Drive collaboration with local research institutes and tertiary institutions to:
  • Achieve defined R&D, innovation, and capability-building targets
  • Access specialised expertise, grants, and emerging technologies
  • Ensure collaborations translate into tangible development outcomes.

4. Pipeline Governance & Registration Processes

  • Review and streamline pipeline development and registration processes to improve transparency, predictability, and execution discipline.
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment with Manufacturing, QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.

5. System Gaps & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring mismatches in expectations across functions (e.g. R&D vs Manufacturing / Regulatory / Commercial).
  • Recommend and implement system, process, or governance improvements to address root causes sustainably.

6.People & Capability Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and retain high-performing R&D talent.
  • Build succession plans for critical scientific and technical roles.
  • Foster a culture of scientific excellence, accountability, and innovation.
