Star Media Group is hiring a General Manager, Sales & Events. As part of our Events unit, you will be the commercial powerhouse driving the success of our flagship corporate conferences and expos. You are responsible for transforming event concepts into profitable reality by securing high-value sponsorships and managing the end-to-end commercial lifecycle. This role is perfect for a strategic leader who understands how to bridge the gap between premium event experiences and corporate marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Commercial Strategy: Architect and execute the overarching sales and profitability strategy for our portfolio of corporate summits and expos.
- High-Value Sponsorship Acquisition: Lead the team in identifying and securing top-tier sponsors, vendors, and corporate partners to maximize event ROI.
- Event Revenue & P&L Management: Manage the full event budget, including revenue forecasting and cost control, to ensure every project meets its financial targets.
- Strategic Partnership Development: Build and maintain influential relationships with corporate decision-makers and agencies to secure long-term event participation.
- Consultative Event Pitching: Design and present bespoke sponsorship and advertising packages that align with client branding goals within an event environment.
- Leadership & Team Mentorship: Recruit, train, and mentor a specialized sales team to excel in the nuances of corporate event sponsorship and key account management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cohesively with internal production teams and external vendors to ensure all sponsorship deliverables are fulfilled during event execution.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of related work experience in Sales and Events.
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Industry Background: Proven track record in media or corporate event environments, with a focus on large-scale B2B portfolios.
- Competencies: Strong leadership, resource management, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Presentation Skills: Exceptional ability to conduct high-level presentations to diverse corporate groups.
