Oversee day-to-day operation, and provide regular consultation and training to a team on the compliance with relevant guidelines, policies, regulations and manuals
Lead a team to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that customer's order is fulfilled timely, update customers on order status, and complete billings without error.
Prepare monthly management report to be submitted to HQ in Japan and clearly communicate core business issues, sales results, and financial and accounting status, and attend management meetings
Evaluate and examine the adequacy and effectiveness of internal warehouse management procedure and the use of existing integrated warehouse management system to meet the customers expectation, and collaborate with system development engineers in HQ for the system upgrading/modification projects on a regular basis
Develop a strong business relationship with customers, internal stakeholders, and local vendors, and maintain good communication link to avoid miscommunication, and mitigate and resolve operational problems and issues by proposing solutions
Review and negotiate terms and conditions of service agreement with new as well as existing customers
Ensure to meet internal Key Performance Index (KPI) as well as KPI set by customers
Ensure ISO compliance standard
Other managerial duties and responsibilities such as appraisals, recruitment activities, and office general affairs matters
Job Requirements
Possess Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in warehouse management and global supply chain optimization with established or multinational logistic company, with at least 5 years in a management role
Deep knowledge and expertise in warehouse work-flow management and process improvement
Ability to evaluate and identify risks in the business process with specific emphasis on the logistic industry
Deep knowledge in finance, accounting and budgeting, and awareness of J-SOX
Fluent or high proficiency in the Japanese language (both speaking and writing) is essential for this role as the successful candidate must be able to read and understand regulations and practice guidelines of Japanese custom clearance procedure written in Japanese. The successful candidate will be accountable for the control of large volume chemical consignment for Japanese chemical companies and prepare reports in Japanese and liaise with Japanese native stakeholders.
