Job Summary
The Assistant Executive (General Worker) supports the operational, administrative and field activities of the Central Regional Office (CRO). This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily office operations, logistical readiness, and on-site support during programmes and field assignments. The role also includes assisting officers during network performance tests, basic technical support tasks, and disaster or emergency response operations within the Central Region. The General Worker contributes to maintaining CRO's operational efficiency, readiness, and responsiveness in delivering MCMC's mandate to the public. .
Job Responsibilities:
1. Office & Administrative Support
• Assist CRO officers with general office duties including filing, photocopying, document handling, and office errands.
• Deliver and collect official documents, parcels or equipment within CRO, other MCMC offices or related government agencies when required.
• Assist in managing office supplies, stationery and basic storeroom organisation.
• Support preparation and arrangement of meeting rooms, including furniture setup, basic audio-visual equipment assistance and cleanliness before and after meetings.
2. Premises, Maintenance & Housekeeping
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of CRO office premises, common areas, meeting rooms, pantry, advocacy booths storage and surrounding compounds.
• Assist with simple maintenance tasks such as moving furniture, arranging equipment and reporting defects or safety hazards to the relevant officer or vendor.
• Support compliance with workplace safety, health and cleanliness standards as required by MCMC.
3. Programme, Advocacy & Event Support
• Provide logistical and operational assistance for MCMC outreach programmes, advocacy initiatives, awareness campaigns, exhibitions, and roadshows (e.g. Internet
• Safety Campaigns, NADI programmes, community outreach events).
• Assist with event setup and dismantling, including advocacy booths, banners, promotional materials, registration counters, and equipment.
• Support officers during on-site programmes held at public venues such as bazaars, community centres, schools, or government premises across the Southern Region.
• Assist in packing, transporting, and storing programme materials and equipment.
4. Field Support: Network Tests, Technical & Site Activities
• Provide basic assistance during field activities such as network performance tests, quality-of-service checks, and drive-test logistics (e.g., equipment handling, note-taking, route support).
• Assist officers during site visits for coverage verification, complaint follow-ups, and community engagement related to communications infrastructure.
• Safely handle MCMC field equipment and ensure timely readiness of devices and tools required for field tasks
5. Disaster Response & Emergency Support
• Support officers during disaster response mobilisations, including logistics handling, equipment movement, and readiness of emergency communications tools.
• Assist during deployments at temporary relief centres, operations centres, or affected areas as instructed.
• Participate in preparedness activities such as equipment checks, packing of emergency kits, and vehicle readiness.
6. General Duties
• Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor, Administrative Officer, or Head of CRO.
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and proper handling of MCMC documents, equipment, and information.
• Uphold professional conduct and represent MCMC positively during all internal and external engagements.
Qualifications & Work Experiences
1. SPM/STPM or equivalent.
2. Strong driving skills with a valid driver's license.
3. Punctuality and reliability.
4. Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
5. At least 2 years working experiences
6. Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when required
7. Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics is a plus.
