Job Description

Job Summary

The General Worker is responsible for providing day to day operational and logistical support to ensure the Sarawak Regional Office functions efficiently, safely, and in an orderly manner. This role supports administrative, maintenance, and programme-related activities as required, with a particular focus on assisting Senior Management, and the PRIME team. The General Worker will assist in the maintenance, preparation, and deployment of the PRIME vehicle during emergency operations, disaster responses, and community outreach activities. Additionally, the incumbent will provide logistical support for Senior Management, ensuring smooth operation within the Regional Office.

Job Responsibilities

Transportation Services:

  1. Safely transport the Senior Management to and from meetings, appointments, and other official engagements.
  2. Ensure punctuality and follow planned schedules or itineraries.

Vehicle Maintenance and Upkeep:

  1. Regularly inspect the assigned vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition.
  2. Schedule and perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire checks, and cleaning.
  3. Report any mechanical issues or damages promptly for repair.
  4. Maintain log book of each service vehicle on daily basis and update daily mileage records.

Schedule Management:

  1. Coordinate with the Sarawak Regional Office to plan and manage transportation schedules.
  2. Anticipate travel times and plan routes to avoid delays, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions.

Security and Confidentiality:

  1. Ensure the safety and security of the Senior Management during travel.
  2. Maintain confidentiality regarding routes, destinations, and any discussions overheard during travel.

Administrative Support:

  1. Assist with errands such as document delivery, package handling, or other assigned tasks.
  2. Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, mileage, and expenses.
  3. Assist in logistics for programs, workshops, and official events including booth setup, registration, equipment handling, and dismantling; provide on-site support to officers as directed.
  4. Provide on-site support to officers as directed.

  1. Assist the PRIME Operator (S3) in ensuring the readiness and functionality of the PRIME vehicle.
  2. Provide logistical support for field deployment of the PRIME vehicle during emergency operations, disaster responses, and community outreach activities.
  3. Help with routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspections of the PRIME vehicle.
  4. Assist in the setup, breakdown, and transportation of the PRIME vehicle to designated locations.
  5. Support in ensuring the vehicle's readiness for operation during critical situations.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  1. SPM/STPM or equivalent
  2. Strong driving skills with a valid driver's license.
  3. Punctuality and reliability, Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  4. At least 2 years working experience as a driver and familiar with the location
  5. Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when required. Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics is a plus.
  6. Experience in supporting emergency operations, logistics, or field deployment is an advantage.
