Description
- Manage the general ledger process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide required documentation.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reporting.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for senior management.
Profile
A Successful GL Manager Should Have
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Past experience in external audit is a must.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
