Job Summary:
The Glazing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the glazing production process, ensuring high standards of quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan production for the glazing department in line with turnover planning and coordinate with the production planner to align operations with broader timelines.
- Manage the preparation and application schedules for glaze materials and oversee sample runs and pre-production activities.
- Collaborate with the quality control supervisor to ensure glazing processes consistently meet quality standards, and identify and address defective products promptly.
- Train operators to maintain quality standards and ensure pre-production samples meet established requirements.
- Lead the development of new product textures in collaboration with Product Development and Sales teams, including creating texture limit samples.
- Minimize downtime by working with operators and maintenance teams, conducting daily machine checks, and ensuring adherence to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules.
- Apply 5S methodology consistently across the department and enforce compliance with SOPs and safety regulations.
- Supervise and guide operatives to meet production targets, conduct daily briefings, and manage manpower allocation, including arranging overtime when needed.
- Report daily operational issues to the production manager, attend relevant meetings, and maintain accurate production records.
- Ensure raw materials, tools, and glaze are prepared for operations per turnover planning.
- Conduct internal audits for the Quality Management System (QMS) as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma-level education with basic technical skills related to glazing or similar operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including manpower handling and production planning.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
