Global Category Manager/Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Category Strategy & Governance

1. Own and manage the global category strategy for Laminate & Prepreg, aligning with business and operational priorities
2. Continuously assess market trends and adjust strategies to stay competitive and responsive
3. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective execution across regions

2. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

1. Drive end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including supplier identification, RFQ management, and selection processes
2. Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and long-term value
3. Analyze cost structures and market benchmarks to support sourcing decisions

3. Supplier & Relationship Management

1. Establish and maintain a robust supplier base, including development of preferred suppliers
2. Conduct regular performance reviews to improve delivery, quality, cost, and innovation
3. Collaborate with suppliers on risk mitigation and continuity planning

4. Contract & Commercial Management

1. Oversee drafting, negotiation, and execution of supplier agreements and partnerships
2. Work closely with internal legal teams to ensure contracts meet compliance and business requirements
3. Manage commercial terms including rebates, inventory programs, and strategic agreements

5. Cost Optimization

1. Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across the category
2. Develop cost models and should-cost analysis to support negotiations and budgeting
3. Partner with finance teams to track savings and align with financial targets

6. Market & Risk Intelligence

1. Monitor supply market conditions, including industry trends, regulatory changes, and global trade impacts
2. Identify risks and opportunities within the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies
3. Ensure adherence to compliance, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards

Job Requirements

1. At least 10 years of experience in category management or strategic sourcing within electronics or PCB-related industries
2. Strong background in handling Laminate & Prepreg materials is highly preferred
3. Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost management, and global sourcing strategies
4. Solid understanding of supply chain risk management and supplier development
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
6. Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across regions
7. Experience working in a matrix and multicultural environment
8. Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
9. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI)
10. Comfortable working with large datasets and spend analysis
11. Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
12. Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM) are an added advantage
