Job Description

A career in immigration practice will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients adopt a more strategic approach to global entity governance across their organizations. We help our clients to meet and manage their immigration obligations and solve complex problems. Our team specializes in providing immigration support across all of our clients disciplines. You will advise clients on their local and overseas immigration issues and exposures.

This role is focused on assisting with the immigration requirements of our clients employees. It involves ensuring adherence to Immigration Laws and Regulations and delivering outstanding client service. The caseworker plays a vital role, whether they are assigned to a global account or a specific geographic region. They engage in close collaboration with clients, individual employees, legal teams, government entities, and various stakeholders. This collaboration is essential for facilitating efficient and well-coordinated immigration processes. The caseworker's responsibilities are crucial in managing the complexities of immigration procedures and ensuring successful outcomes for all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file tax returns and related deliverables for globally mobile employees within designated deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide specialized tax advisory and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders on tax planning, withholding obligations, and social security contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and HR teams to ensure accurate payroll tax calculations and reporting.
  • Advise on assignment structures, application of tax treaties, and identification of tax-efficient compensation and benefit structures.
  • Educate and counsel employees on tax obligations and the implications of international assignments, including tax equalization and tax protection policies.
  • Analyze employee compensation and payroll data to calculate tax liabilities accurately and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare supporting applications and documentation to enhance employees tax positions, including detailed data analysis and communication with assignees.
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready tax records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on international tax laws, regulations, and market developments impacting global mobility.
  • Prepare and present tax reports to management, auditors, and tax authorities, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct research on country-specific tax issues across operational jurisdictions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients managing business traveler tax compliance, ensuring proactive communication and high service standards.
  • Provide regular status updates to clients, address concerns, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Manage the financial aspects of engagements, including billing, collections, KPI tracking, and performance metrics.
  • Support the implementation of global mobility tax strategies to minimize liabilities for both employer and employee.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the existing client base, contributing to revenue growth and portfolio expansion.
  • Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to identify potential growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Tax Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor degree
  • Required Fields of Study: Business Administration, Business Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant experiences
  • Certification(s) Required: Nil
