Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager Machining

As the Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager Machining, you will join the global strategic sourcing organization of Collins Aerospace supporting the Aerostructures business unit. You will be responsible for executing commodity account management and strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure a resilient, cost-effective, and high-performing supply chain. The role focuses on identifying and developing qualified suppliers, negotiating and awarding contracts within specified spending limits, and driving supplier performance in alignment with organizational goals for quality, delivery, and cost.

This role is eligible to work in a remote capacity.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute commodity account management and strategic sourcing strategies, including implementation of supply chain initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Negotiate and award contracts within specified spending limits, while identifying and developing new qualified sources of supply.
  • Partner with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, improve sourcing strategy, and support product transitions between suppliers, including coordination of technical meetings across multiple entities.
  • Analyze supplier operations and market conditions to determine factors impacting cost, quality, and delivery; recommend cost reduction strategies while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Manage overall relationships with one or more strategic suppliers, ensuring performance aligns with Collins standards for delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Drive supplier initiatives to include best-cost sourcing, supplier consolidation, business cash improvements, and continuous improvement (CI) activities.
  • Lead supplier meetings related to strategic initiatives, new business awards, performance issues (cost, delivery, quality), and routine business reviews.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Prior experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, or supply chain operations

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven experience negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and executing sourcing strategies.
  • Understanding of supply chain principles, cost analysis, and market dynamics with the machinery commodity is a plus
  • Ability to analyze supplier performance metrics related to cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and leading supplier meetings or improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
