Job Description

Summary

The Global Supplier Quality Team drives customer-focused excellence and continuous improvement across both external and vertically integrated suppliers while ensuring full compliance with industry, customer, and Celestica requirements.

This role fosters a Zero-Defect culture focused on value maximization and problem prevention. By identifying, managing, and mitigating supply chain risks, the position ensures a continuous flow of high-quality parts and minimizes operational disruptions.

Detailed Description

  • Global QMS Management: Drive the creation, approval, and ongoing maintenance of worldwide Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) documents, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Audit Program Oversight: Lead the risk-based global supplier audit program. Schedule and prioritize audits for critical suppliers based on risk assessments and maintain compliance with worldwide procedures.
  • Auditor Roster Management: Maintain the global qualified auditor register, ensuring qualified auditors are appropriately assigned to audit engagements.
  • Site Support & Performance Tracking: Support local site Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) with on-site/virtual audits and supplier improvement initiatives. Track audit KPIs and provide monthly effectiveness reports to senior leadership.
  • Requirement Alignment: Monitor the flow-down of customer and Celestica expectations to suppliers and sub-suppliers to ensure absolute clarity.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Oversee quality planning during NPI, product transitions, process changes, and launch execution.
  • Audit Execution & Selection: Conduct Supplier Qualification audits assessing quality systems and technical/process capabilities; assist in supplier selection and onboarding.
  • Performance Metrics & Analytics: Generate, analyze, and report supplier performance metrics, KPIs, and data trends. Participate in Periodic Business Reviews (PBRs) for high-impact and preferred suppliers.
  • Issue Resolution: Monitor ongoing supplier performance, driving Supplier Quality Improvement Plans (SQIP) to resolve systemic issues. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to implement root-cause and corrective action plans.
  • Process Standardization: Develop, deploy, and continuously improve global Supplier Quality processes, standards, and document controls.
  • Supplier Enablement: Educate suppliers on core quality methodologies, including FMEA, Control Plans, 8D/Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving tools.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and projects as directed by Supplier Quality Management (SQM).

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English, with demonstrated capability in authoring complex technical documentation.
  • Quality Standards: Practical working knowledge of international standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100 / AS9000 series, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, FDA, and VDA.
  • Audit Expertise: Certified Lead Auditor credential with extensive hands-on experience conducting quality system audits.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Hands-on experience with electronic and mechanical assembly, alongside broad knowledge of varied manufacturing processes.
  • Problem-Solving Mastery: Advanced capability to lead teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing the 8D process and structured quality tools.
  • Core Quality Tools: Deep familiarity with APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC, and Gage R&R.
  • Quality Controls: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and management of Key/Critical Characteristics.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects concurrently.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable, with a cooperative, team-oriented mindset for remote work environments.
  • Experience: Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, and/or supply chain management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related technical/business field, or an equivalent combination of education and direct industry experience. (Educational requirements may vary by geography).
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) is preferred but not required. Lead Auditor certification is strongly preferred.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel 50% – 75%.
