Job Description


Purpose

  • Lead and formulate strategies to drive sales and marketing activities within the Distribution team.

  • Achieve targeted sales volumes and margins through effective pricing strategies, product development, and supply chain optimization.

  • Monitor industry trends, identify growth opportunities, and guide the development of new distribution products and services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Marketing Leadership
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies aligned with Goup's overall business objectives.

  • Create effective pricing strategies that balance profitability with customer requirements.

  • Lead the team in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales KPIs and revenue targets.

  • Oversee product development initiatives and ensure market readiness.

2. Competitor & Market Intelligence
  • Monitor competitor activities and adapt strategies to safeguard and enhance market position.

  • Conduct continuous market research, environment scanning, and supply forecasting to support business decision-making.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities locally and regionally.

3. Operations & Sales Performance
  • Track and analyze sales performance against budgets and targets.

  • Prepare regular reports, data analyses, and market intelligence for senior management.

  • Recommend and implement tactical improvements to optimize sales outcomes.

  • Oversee accurate CRM updates on customer visits, opportunities, and account activities.

4. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, industry players, and key business stakeholders.

  • Enhance stakeholder confidence in products and services.

  • Work with Finance to ensure timely customer payments in line with agreed credit terms.

5. Sales Negotiation & Contracts
  • Lead high-value sales negotiations by leveraging market intelligence and setting clear specifications and pricing targets.

  • Secure profitable agreements and long-term partnerships to sustain growth.

6. Team Development & Capability Building
  • Mentor and coach sales and marketing staff, ensuring continuous training and skills development.

  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives across all branches.

  • Promote teamwork, shared values, and a culture of integrity, commitment, and accountability.

7. Culture & Leadership
  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes ownership, loyalty, and operational excellence.

  • Provide strong leadership, instilling the right behaviors and mindsets across teams.

  • Guide and support branch teams in delivering consistent sales performance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership capacity managing Sales & Marketing functions.

  • Proven track record as a General Manager in Sales & Marketing within the trading and distribution sector.

  • Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams, particularly within the distribution industry.

  • Strong expertise in commercial distribution strategies with a solid grasp of industry best practices.

  • Regional exposure with hands-on experience in international markets, including China, Singapore, Vietnam, and other strategic territories.
