Job Description
The Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch, invites applications from highly motivated Sarawakian candidates for a Master by Research position in the area of Interior Design Recommender in Extended Reality (XR). The successful candidate will conduct research related to Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Software Engineering, and Extended Reality technologies while pursuing a full-time Master's degree.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews and identify research gaps related to interior design recommendation systems and Extended Reality.
- Design, develop, and evaluate AI-driven recommender models for interior design applications.
- Develop prototypes and software applications using Extended Reality technologies (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, or Mixed Reality).
- Collect, process, and analyse research data using appropriate methodologies and tools.
- Prepare research reports, technical documentation, and academic publications.
- Present research findings at seminars, conferences, and workshops.
- Assist in project-related activities, including fieldwork, user studies, and industry collaborations.
- Complete all requirements of the Master by Research programme within the stipulated duration.
Requirements
- Sarawakian citizen (priority will be given to applicants from Sarawak).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Multimedia Computing, or a related field.
- Minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Strong interest in research and postgraduate studies.
- Good programming and software development skills.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Image Processing, or Extended Reality is an added advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to work independently and as part of a research team.
