GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT (Ph.D- Polymer Engineering)

Project Title: Development of Automated System for Preferential Capturing of Emerging Pollutants (EP) from Industrial Wastewater using Surface Active Natural Rubber Film

Candidate MUST register as a full-time postgraduate (Ph.D) at USM Engineering Campus

Eligibility:

• Obtained a M.Sc in Engineering or Sciences
• Obtained at least a Second Class Upper (CGPA 3.00) in Bachelor's Degree of Engineering (Polymer/ Materials/ Mechanical/Chemical) or Bachelor's Degree of Science (Materials/Chemical/Physics) or Bachelor's Degree of Technology or equivalent

• MUST be able to perform data programming or basic machine learning for the development of materials database, and automation and sensor integration

• MUST possess experience in polymer/ chemical sciences/ material characterizations, and priority is given to those with good understanding on the pollutant chemistry and characterizations (need to emphasize this in your application)

• Good command of English (verbal and written) without the aid of AI

• Resourceful, dynamic, and independent

• MUST be able to analyze complex graphs and large databases

• MALAYSIAN citizen only

Project prospect for industries:

• WWTP industries

• Policymakers

• Chemical additives industries

A monthly allowance will be provided for up to 36 months for full-time candidates.

Able to start by ASAP- March/April 2026
