Job Description

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the finance & accounts team in delivering strategic financial reports to management.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, etc as required.
  • Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue and costs;
  • Coordinating all audit activity.
  • Consistently analyzing of financial data and presenting financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress, changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the financial status.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Implement effective strategies to optimize financial performance and profitability.
  • Assisting leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administering and reviewing all financial plans and comparing to actual results with a view to identifying, explaining and correcting variances as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Prior experience in a group or consolidated accounting function, ideally within a multi-entity or regional group structure.
  • Strong track record in audit coordination, financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or local GAAP) and local regulatory requirements (e.g., LHDN, SSM, Bursa if relevant)
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial statements is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in group consolidation, management accounts, and statutory reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance, internal controls, and audit procedures in Malaysia.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a finance team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to present complex financial data to senior management clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to subsidiaries or group companies within Malaysia (or regionally, if required).
