Position Summary
The Group ERP Finance Business Partner is the functional expert bridging the Group's Finance community and the IDT function for all ERP and financial-reporting systems, spanning Infor SyteLine and SAP, financial consolidation and management reporting, and enterprise planning platforms such as IBM Planning Analytics.
Reporting to the Group Digital Solution Senior Manager, the Business Partner is accountable for translating finance process and reporting requirements into working system solutions — configuring and maintaining ERP finance modules, delivering reporting, consolidation, and planning capability, and supporting the Group's month-end and year-end close across sites. As a hands-on configurer and the principal functional escalation point for finance systems, the Business Partner leads ERP finance workstreams on implementation, upgrade, and rollout projects, coaches finance key users without direct people-management responsibility, coordinates implementation partners and software vendors at the delivery level, and works closely with regional Finance and site stakeholders to deliver the Group's digital transformation agenda.
Responsibilities
ERP Finance Solution Design and Configuration
- Partner Group Finance to translate finance, controlling, and reporting requirements into ERP solution designs across Infor SyteLine and SAP, advising on feasibility, effort, and process impact.
- Configure and maintain ERP finance modules — general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, product costing, and intercompany — including chart of accounts, cost centres, and period-end controls.
- Own finance master-data standards across sites, safeguarding consistency of chart of accounts, costing structures, and reporting hierarchies.
- Define and document to-be finance processes, system controls, and segregation-of-duties requirements in line with Group policy and audit expectations.
- Evaluate new ERP releases, modules, and complementary finance tools, recommending adoption where they deliver measurable value to the Finance function.
Reporting, Consolidation, and Planning
- Deliver financial and management reporting from ERP and reporting tools, covering statutory, management, and site-level reporting packs.
- Build and maintain group consolidation reporting, including intercompany elimination, currency translation, and group reporting hierarchies.
- Develop and support budgeting, forecasting, and planning models in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) or equivalent platforms, including cubes, rules, and data-integration processes.
- Automate recurring finance reporting and data flows between ERP, consolidation, and planning systems to reduce manual effort in the close cycle.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close from a systems perspective, resolving reconciliation, posting, and reporting issues.
Project Delivery and Site Rollout
- Lead or support ERP finance workstreams on implementation, upgrade, and rollout projects — from requirements gathering through design, configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
- Plan and execute finance data migration and validation, including opening balances, master data, and continuity of historical reporting.
- Prepare test scripts, run user acceptance testing with Finance users, and secure sign-off against agreed acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate implementation partners and software vendors at the delivery level, overseeing delivery quality and SLA adherence, and escalating commercial matters to the Group Digital Solution Senior Manager.
User Enablement, Support, and Reporting
- Act as the principal functional escalation point for finance system issues, investigating root cause and resolving or coordinating fixes.
- Train and coach finance users and site key users on ERP finance processes and reporting tools, without direct people-management responsibility.
- Maintain accurate configuration documentation, process guides, and user procedures.
- Monitor and report on finance system data quality, close-cycle performance, and open issues against agreed service levels, surfacing risks and improvement opportunities to the Group Digital Solution Senior Manager.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting or implementing ERP finance modules in a finance-systems, functional-consultant, or business-partnering role.
- Hands-on ERP setup and configuration experience — Infor SyteLine and/or SAP preferred.
- Demonstrable project experience delivering financial reporting solutions, with group or multi-entity finance consolidation an advantage.
- Experience with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) or comparable planning and EPM platforms is an advantage.
- Solid working knowledge of core finance processes — general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, product costing, intercompany, and period-end close.
- Experience gathering requirements from Finance stakeholders and translating them into system configuration and reporting solutions.
- Experience through a full ERP implementation, upgrade, or rollout lifecycle, including data migration, user acceptance testing, and cutover.
- Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Qualifications
