Job Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing Southeast Asian media intelligence group that empowers marketing, PR, and communications leaders with actionable data. Through AI-enabled technology, social listening, and regional media monitoring, the Group supports enterprise brands across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia with comprehensive cross-channel intelligence.

We are seeking a proactive and technically sound Group Finance Manager to oversee group consolidation, financial reporting, budgeting, and regional finance coordination. Reporting directly to the Group CFO and CEO, this individual contributor role serves as the central anchor for financial data across the region, collaborating closely with country Finance Managers and leadership to drive timely reporting, financial integrity, and business performance.

Start Date: Immediate (Priority given to short notice periods or immediate availability)

Salary: RM 10,000 to RM 12,000 per month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Group Consolidation & Reporting: Spearhead monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial consolidation and management reporting across all regional operating entities (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia).
  • Executive Analysis & Insights: Prepare executive results presentations, variance analyses, and cash flow reports by entity and cost centre for direct presentation to the Group CFO and CEO.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Coordinate and oversee annual budgeting, periodic rolling forecasts, and financial modelling to support group-wide strategic goals and cost-optimisation initiatives.
  • Regional Collaboration: Act as the primary regional liaison, collaborating closely with country Finance Managers and local teams to align accounting standards, resolve cross-border finance issues, and maintain strict month-end closing timelines.
  • Audit & Statutory Compliance: Lead the preparation of group reporting packs and liaise directly with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries to ensure full statutory and audit compliance across all entities.
  • Process & Systems Improvement: Continuously refine and streamline reporting templates, internal controls, and consolidation workflows to enhance accuracy, automation, and reporting speed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with hands-on exposure to Group Consolidation, Group Financial Reporting, and Multi-Entity Accounts (Must-Have).
  • Education & Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CA, CPA, CIMA, MIA) are advantageous but relevant hands-on group accounting experience will be strongly prioritised.
  • Technical Strengths: Strong grasp of financial accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS), group consolidation principles, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Prior exposure to FP&A or budgeting is an added advantage.
  • Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Fluent in English with strong presentation skills, comfortable engaging directly with C-suite executives and cross-border teams. Working proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is required for local office coordination; Mandarin/Cantonese is a plus.
