Job Description

The Group Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team. This role involves managing the finance team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and optimizing financial performance across all business units.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and development for the finance function, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance management to the team.
  • Lead the group's annual budgeting process in collaboration with business units to ensure alignment with strategic objectives; develop and maintain financial forecasts including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, delivering insights and recommendations to support timely corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and manage both external and internal audits, ensuring the prompt resolution of any audit findings.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and manage associated risks effectively.
  • Mentor and lead finance teams across the group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Work closely with finance heads of subsidiaries to ensure alignment and consistency in financial practices and policies across the organization.
  • Drive the implementation of financial systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives aimed at maximizing returns, reducing costs, and strengthening internal controls.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, accounting procedures, and operational systems that support the diverse requirements of the business.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within the property development industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing new processes and strengthening internal controls.
