Hadoop Administrator

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Hadoop Administrator with 4+ years of hands-on experience in managing Cloudera Hadoop environments. You will support daily platform operations, assist in patching, upgrades, and participate in migration activities under senior guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor Hadoop cluster performance and ensure service availability.

Handle incident management and perform vendor log collection for Cloudera products.

Execute application stop/start and configuration requests as per operational needs.

Collaborate with OS, Storage, Network, and Compute teams for cross-platform support.

Assist in job failure analysis, queue management, and resource allocation.

Perform patching, minor upgrades, and participate in NiFi template migrations.

Contribute to backup and recovery operations for critical datasets.

Handle user and access management requests (Kerberos, Ranger, LDAP).

Participate in Cloudera minor version upgrades and hotfix deployment under supervision.

Support DR drill activities and synchronization between production and DR environments.

Monitor platform using Cloudera Manager, Grafana, and ELK dashboards.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Oozie).

Basic understanding of Cloudera Manager and its administrative tools.

Proficient in Linux administration and shell scripting.

Familiar with Kerberos authentication, Ranger security, and user access management.

Understanding of patch management and platform upgrade workflows.

Good troubleshooting, log analysis, and communication skills.

Good to Have

Exposure to Python or Ansible scripting for automation.

Experience in CI/CD-based cluster operations.

Familiarity with AWS or Azure-based Hadoop deployments.
