Role overview:
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design & Validation Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for complex server systems. The role covers hardware design, system-level validation, debugging, and driving product readiness across all development phases.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead hardware development from concept, schematic design, prototyping, to production.
- Design and develop hardware solutions that meet performance, reliability, and technical requirements.
- Work closely with PCB layout, mechanical, firmware, SI/PI, and manufacturing teams to conduct design reviews and resolve issues.
- Develop and execute system-level hardware validation plans across EVT, DVT, and PVT phases.
- Perform hands-on debugging and characterization using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other lab tools.
- Analyze validation results, troubleshoot failures, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with reliability, thermal, EMC/EMI, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation including design specifications, test reports, and revision control records.
- Support customer engagements by translating requirements into hardware solutions and providing technical insights.
- Continuously improve design processes, validation efficiency, and product robustness through automation and lessons learned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or related field.
- 710 years of experience in hardware design, system-level validation, or server platform development.
- Strong proficiency in schematic and PCB design tools (Cadence Allegro).
- Solid understanding of server hardware architecture, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet), and power delivery design.
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments for hardware validation and debugging.
- Familiarity with validation cycles (EVT, DVT, PVT) and product development processes (VRB, PRB).
- Knowledge of reliability, thermal, EMC/EMI, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and test efficiency.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
