Job Title: Head Banking Operations

Location: Bukit Bintang, KL

Department: Operations / Transaction Banking

Reports To: Vice President / Team Head

Role Summary

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) will support the Team Head in overseeing daily operational activities, ensuring the accurate processing of loan, deposit, guarantee, and derivative transactions. This role requires strong expertise in SWIFT messaging, derivatives settlement, regulatory reporting, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team & Operations Management

• Support the Team Head in overseeing daily operations and managing team activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Proactively support other team members to balance workloads and resolve operational issues.

2. Transaction Processing

• Process loan, deposit, and guarantee applications in strict compliance with bank policies and regulatory procedures.
• Process and settle Interest Rate Swap (IRS) derivatives transactions in accordance with contractual terms and market standards.

3. SWIFT & Reconciliation

• Handle SWIFT transactions (MT/MX messages), ensuring compliance with SWIFT standards, regulatory requirements, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols.
• Reconcile SWIFT transactions and promptly resolve discrepancies with correspondent banks.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and approve operation instruction sheets and accounting entry sheets.
• Prepare and maintain various control sheets for audit and risk management.
• Prepare Head Office reporting and regulatory reporting (e.g., BNM, MAS, or applicable local regulator).

5. Compliance & Process Improvement

• Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of banking operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards (MT103, MT202, MT300, etc.) and AML protocols.
• Hands-on experience with derivatives settlement (Interest Rate Swaps).
• Familiarity with loan/deposit/guarantee products and reconciliation processes.
• Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, strong analytical mindset, ability to work under deadlines, and excellent communication skills.
