Job Description

The Head of IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) is a senior leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction, governance framework, and execution oversight of Etiqa's IT project portfolio across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. The role leads a hybrid PMO model incorporating both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ensuring consistent governance while maintaining flexibility to address diverse regulatory, market, and business needs across the region. Working closely with Program Directors, Business Sponsors, Technology Leaders, and Group stakeholders, the Head of IT PMO ensures technology initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities, deliver measurable business value, and are executed with strong risk management and delivery discipline. The role requires strategic acumen, sound judgment, and executive-level stakeholder management, with the ability to translate complex delivery challenges into clear, actionable insights for senior management and Board-level decision-making.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT project/program management, with at least 5 years in a senior PMO or portfolio leadership role.
  • Skillset: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred. Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL) and familiarity with regulatory and technology modernization practices are an added advantage.
  • Act as the primary liaison for senior business leaders and country IT Heads on project delivery matters.
  • Provide concise, insight-driven reporting to Management and Boards.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across multiple markets and regulatory environments.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional PMO team.
  • Strengthen project management capabilities, succession planning, and talent pipelines.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
