Business Development & Strategic Planning
- Lead the growth of the Broking business by developing and executing business plans that drive premium growth, profitability, and market presence
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and partnerships to expand the company's corporate and commercial insurance portfolio
- Drive new business acquisition while maintaining strong renewal retention and customer loyalty
- Explore and evaluate business opportunities that create long-term value and strengthen the company's position in the market
2. Broker & Corporate Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers, corporate clients, and key business partners
- Lead customer and broker engagement activities to strengthen partnerships and uncover business opportunities
- Monitor client and broker visitation plans to ensure effective relationship management and market coverage
- Oversee broker engagement programmes, marketing activities, and networking initiatives to support business growth.
3. Business Performance & Portfolio Management
- Manage and monitor portfolio performance, including production targets, premium growth, profitability, and retention
- Review business performance regularly and implement action plans to address gaps and achieve business objectives
- Analyse portfolio trends, claims experience, and market developments to support sustainable growth and profitability
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to ensure cost efficiency
4. Operations & Governance
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Broking business to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of quotations, renewals, and other customer commitments
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience
5. Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Broking team to achieve business goals and deliver high performance
- Build team capability through succession planning, talent development, and ongoing coaching
- Conduct regular performance discussions and identify development opportunities for team members
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused culture that supports engagement and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, AMII, DMII, or equivalent will be an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience in General Insurance, Broking, Corporate Business Development, or related fields
- Proven experience in managing broker relationships and corporate accounts
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business growth, and portfolio management
- Previous leadership experience managing sales/broking teams
