Job Purpose
To lead the Client Advisory & Solutions (CAS) unit, encompassing Origination and Mergers & Acquisition (M&A). Responsible for originating, structuring, and implementing investment banking solutions for corporate clients, covering the full suite of products (Advisory, Debt Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Stockbroking). This role ensures holistic, value-added solutions that drive revenue growth, strengthen client relationships, and sustain the competitive position of the investment banking franchise.
Job Descriptions
M&A Deal Origination, Structuring and Execution
- Lead and oversee origination, structuring and execution of M&A transactions, including providing comprehensive financial solutions, economic analysis, valuation, and modelling.
- Originate mandates, deals, and transactions with measurable revenue contribution.
- Ensure quality and cohesiveness of deliverables across teams.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (BNM, SC, Bursa, AML/CFT, PDPA, etc.).
- Uphold risk management and ethical standards.
Client Coverage, Management & Negotiations
- Lead and oversee the origination team within CAS, including but not limited to overseeing the execution of pitches, proposals, and transactions with cross-functional teams.
- Taking on a client coverage role for idea origination, deal pitching and fee negotiations, and to build relationships with corporates, institutions and investors.
- Market and promote the MBSB groups products and services to corporate clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate captains of industry and key stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership, Planning & Positioning
- Responsible for driving business growth through crafting annual business strategy and action plans, budgeting, KPI setting, and performance tracking as per the balanced scorecard.
- Mentor, train, and develop high-performing teams.
- Support the CEO, MBSB IB and top management in strategic initiatives.
- Execute additional duties assigned by Senior Management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor&aposs Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or Professional Certifications (CFA or equivalent) added advantage.
- CMSRL preferred.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, securities laws, and listing regulations.
- Minimum 15 to 18 years of experience in investment banking, with proven track record in both origination, structuring and executing M&A deals, team leadership, and client relationship management.
- Established network of corporate, institutional investors, and regulators within regional capital markets.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing P&L responsibilities.
