Hays Technology is currently partnering with several leading organisations across Malaysia, ranging from financial services institutions and multinational corporations to fast-growing digital businesses, that are looking to strengthen their cybersecurity leadership capabilities. As cyber threats continue to evolve and regulatory expectations increase, organisations are investing heavily in cybersecurity transformation, governance, risk management, security operations, cloud security, and cyber resilience. Your new role
As a Head of Cybersecurity or Head of IT Security, you will be responsible for defining and driving the organisation's cybersecurity strategy while ensuring the protection of critical systems, data, and digital assets.
- Developing and executing enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps.
- Leading cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
- Managing Security Operations Centre (SOC), incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management functions.
- Driving cloud security, application security, and infrastructure security initiatives.
- Establishing cybersecurity frameworks, policies, standards, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Partnering with executive leadership and business stakeholders to manage cyber risks and strengthen cyber resilience.
- Leading cybersecurity transformation projects and security technology implementations.
- Managing cyber audits, regulatory reviews, and cybersecurity assessments.
- Building, mentoring, and developing high-performing cybersecurity teams.
- Presenting cybersecurity risks and strategic recommendations to senior management, board members, and key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 12 years of experience within Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT Risk, or Technology Risk functions.
- Proven experience leading cybersecurity teams, programs, or functions at a senior management level.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, COBIT, or similar standards.
- Experience across one or more areas including:
- Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Security Operations (SOC)
- Incident Response
- Cloud Security
- Identity & Access Management
- Application Security
- Threat Intelligence
- Vulnerability Management
- Third-Party Risk Management
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage C-suite executives and business leaders.
- Experience within regulated industries such as Financial Services, Telecommunications, Healthcare, Energy, or Technology would be advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CCSP, or equivalent would be highly regarded.
