Position: Head of Data (Innovation & Analytics)

Location: Malaysia

Overview

We are seeking a strategic leader to drive the data, analytics, and knowledge management agenda across a diversified group of businesses. This role is key to shaping a data-driven culture and unlocking business value through actionable insights and advanced analytics.

Frequent weekly travel within Malaysia will be required during the first six months to engage with stakeholders, oversee projects, and establish data initiatives across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver innovative solutions and foster a data-driven culture.
• Define and execute the data strategy and roadmap to support business growth and efficiency.
• Design and deploy analytics models, AI/ML solutions, and data platforms to solve business challenges.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational improvement.
• Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Translate complex analytics into actionable insights for leadership and key decision-makers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or related field (Masters preferred).
• Proven experience leading data and analytics functions in a complex organization.
• Strong knowledge of data science, AI/ML, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel weekly within Malaysia for the first six months.
