We are currently seeking for a Head of Delivery and Couriers to join DHL eCommerce Malaysia!
The Head of Delivery and Couriers will be responsible to lead the implementation of Couriers, Pick-up & Delivery strategy to provide safe, secure, on-time and accurate delivery and pick-up services in line with the business objective and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Main Accountabilities
- Develop Couriers, Pick-up & Delivery operations strategy to provide effective pick-up/ delivery services across Malaysia.
- Deploy structured approach to manage operational procedures, ensure full compliance to the established SOP.
- Implement established reporting standards to achieve visibility on delivery performance to substantiate decisions.
- Anticipate change in trends to assess efficiency of current resources, analyze and define requirements for operations and improvements in pick-up/ delivery processes
- Provide input to develop new solutions for delivery, develop processes and methods for delivery operations
- Monitor and identify issues and opportunities, and implement better practices for courier operations focusing on increasing effectiveness, efficiency and cost control
- Plan and manage resource deployment including agents/contractors management.
- Ensure full compliance to DHLeC's safety, quality and service excellence standards across all locations in Malaysia
People Management
- Provide expertise, advice and coaching to the team for execution of day-to-day tasks and activities and meet work schedules and targets
- Manage a department that includes multiple teams led by Managers.
- Drive personal/career development and progression of subordinates via coaching and counselling
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate and influence business leaders outside of own job area to accept practices and approaches
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DHL eCommerce
- Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
- Lead negotiations with internal or external stakeholders
Functional Experience
- Good knowledge of courier / express shipment management and delivery process flow
Geographical Experience
- Good knowledge of courier industry across Malaysia
- Good network of contacts for delivery agents/contractors in across Malaysia
Desired Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree certification, relevant experience in the courier industry without degree certification would also be considered
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience in operational management role, previous experience in the courier industry is an advantage
- Strong operations planning and management background
- Good analytical skills and strong focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership and decision making skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Willing to travel
