JOB PURPOSE:
To manage and oversee the finance and accounting reporting system, cash flow management, and statutory compliance requirements of Company Land Sdn. Bhd. ensuring effective financial control, accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform & supervise related month end financial closing activities.
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts in accordance with the management requirement.
- Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis of financials for management review.
- Ensure the cross charging and costs are allocated appropriately and align with the transfer pricing arrangement.
- Drives changes and improvement to the existing financial reporting pack & analysis.
- Review the Net Realizable Value (NRV) Test on inventory.
- Support development of new tools and improvement processes for improving analytical capabilities to assist in financial reporting.
- Overall responsibility for the integrity of financial systems and related data including the financial close process.
- To explore potential new system or use of existing system capabilities to drive efficient and effective reporting.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of financial account reporting, including management reporting and forecasting,
- Ensure the timely completion of annual audited Financial Statements of each company.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, company secretary as well as regulatory bodies in relation to issues related to audit, Inland Revenue taxation, secretarial and relevant statutory requirements.
- Develop and implementation of Standard Operation Procedure for the finance documentation/ records work flow within the department, with other units/departments and with relevant external parties to ensure efficiency in works and compliance with Limit of Approval Authority, company policy and corporate governance.
- To ensure operation efficiency in the FA Department via digitalization of the operation processes within the department, monitor and implement the digitalized processes in the department to ensure high productivity, data sharing efficiency within and beyond the department, as well as ability to make effective reporting.
- Develop and monitor the annual operation budget of FA Department to ensure sustainability of the company's business.
- Assist CEO to coordinate with all division, departments and operation units in the group company to develop the overall annual operational budget for the Company. Monitor and provide timely reporting and recommendation of the budget performance to the CEO to ensure financial sustainability of the company's operation.
- Lead the accounts department in handling daily accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely closing of monthly accounts.
- Oversee company's treasury function, control and manage company's cash flow, credit control and liaise with banker, financial advisor and CEO on company funding, credit facilities maintenance and expansion.
- Responsible for overall accounting functions, daily cashflow and taxation matters.
- Reviewing and verifying all payment transactions including suppliers, sub-contractors, payroll, commission, deposits and etc.
- Approve of all Invoices, JVs, CNs, and DNs of each company prior entries made into accounting systems.
- Ensure all the statutory compliances are met.
- Analysis of each company performance including budgetary variances on a monthly basis.
- To monitor project budget.
- Establish internal processes and controls, implement and monitor accounting procedures.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned from time to time.
JOB SPECIFICATION :
Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/ACCA/CIMA or any other equivalent Professional Accounting qualification.
- At least 12–15 years working experience in the Engineering field and at least 5–8 years in senior leadership (Head of Finance)
- Strong background in construction, infrastructure or project-based industries
- Proven experience in banking relationships and large project financing
Knowledge
- Governance philosophies, policy and management practices.
- Familiar with Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) accounting standard, tax regulation and statutory requirement.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of project finance and contract structures
