Head of Digital Innovation
Your new role
As the Head of Digital Innovation, you will lead the organisation's innovation and transformation agenda, identifying opportunities to develop new products, services, partnerships and revenue streams. You will work closely with the executive leadership team to translate the company's growth strategy into practical initiatives that can be tested, launched and scaled.
This will be a highly hands-on position where you will build the innovation roadmap, establish effective ways of working and take ideas from initial concept through validation, minimum viable product and go-to-market execution. You will also help strengthen the company's operating model, digital capabilities and internal processes as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing the company's innovation and transformation strategy
- Identifying new products, services, commercial models and market opportunities
- Leading initiatives from ideation and validation through to launch and scale
- Building a structured approach to experimentation, product discovery and innovation
- Working with senior leadership to support business growth and IPO readiness
- Establishing strategic partnerships with customers, technology providers, investors and wider ecosystem partners
- Using customer, commercial and operational data to support investment decisions
- Driving cross-functional transformation across product, technology, operations and commercial teams
- Building and developing a high-performing innovation function as the organisation grows
- Introducing clear objectives, performance measures and governance for innovation initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an entrepreneurial innovation, transformation, strategy or product leader with experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment. You do not need to be an established C-suite executive, but you must be ready to step into a broader leadership role with ownership of the company's innovation agenda.
You should ideally offer:
- Approximately 8 to 12 years of relevant experience across innovation, transformation, strategy, digital or product
- Experience helping a start-up or scale-up progress through a significant growth stage
- Exposure to an IPO journey, pre-IPO preparation, fundraising, investor engagement or another major liquidity event
- A strong record of launching and scaling new products, services or business models
- Experience creating new revenue streams and developing commercial partnerships
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on delivery
- Knowledge of product discovery, MVP development, customer validation and go-to-market execution
- Experience improving operating models, processes and organisational ways of working
- Strong commercial judgement supported by data and customer insight
- The credibility to influence founders, investors, board members and senior functional leaders
- Experience building or developing teams in a fast-changing environment
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
