Head of Digital Tech, Health & Beauty

We're seeking an experienced Tech Head to lead technology development for our Health & Beauty format across five key markets. You'll oversee our health and beauty e-commerce presence, leading a team of dedicated professionals in designing, developing, and delivering our complex e-commerce system and omni-channel experience. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of project and risk management. You'll nurture the team's growth and guide them toward excellence in design, quality, and project delivery.

The challenge is to:

• Lead the technical design, development, and maintenance of our e-commerce platform.
• Manage a hybrid, multi-location team of developers (combining in-house and outsourced contributors), providing guidance, mentorship, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product teams, e-commerce heads, group tech, and other departments to define and implement new features, drive roadmap development, and ensure alignment with company key tech design principles.
• Build and establish technical foundations, continuously improving core system performance to match state-of-the-art e-commerce platform experiences.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, performance, security, scalability, and reliability are followed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with cross-functional teams

Do you have experience in e-commerce

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of backend engineering experience and 5+ years managing tech teams or serving as an engineering manager, with a proven track record of leading and delivering high-performance e-commerce platforms.
• Deep knowledge of e-commerce platforms, with expertise in building modern solutions and evaluating technical trade-offs
• Strong proficiency in a backend programming language (Java or PHP) and familiarity with database, web, and app technologies (eg. MySQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React Native)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Our platform is Magento-based. 2+ years of hands-on Magento development or management experience is a plus, particularly with Magento 2.x. Experience with Magento customizations, third-party integrations, and API development is preferred.
