The Day-To-Day Activities

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and coach a team Account Managers to achieve individual and collective sales targets, ensuring consistent high performance and a results-driven culture.
  • Lead direct enterprise sales execution, aligning with the overall business objectives of U Mobile's Enterprise Large Accounts team.
  • Drive new client acquisition and market expansion, particularly in key verticals such as manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, and government-linked companies.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to refine go-to-market strategies, optimize value propositions, and position U Mobile as a leading enterprise telecommunications provider.
  • Develop and oversee execution of pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and performance tracking, ensuring timely and data-informed decision-making.
  • Co-lead all market surveys, RFPs, bids development / submission together with the Commercial Bid and Technical Pre-Sales Teams.

Key Account & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the lead, along with Head of Large Accounts on strategic enterprise accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer retention.
  • Support Account Managers in complex negotiations, contract structuring, and solution customization, particularly for large, strategic opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer executives, advocating for customer needs and ensuring alignment with U Mobile's technology roadmap and service delivery.

Team Development & Performance Management

  • Recruit, develop, and retain direct sales talent, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment, within the Direct Team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline coaching, and strategic account reviews to elevate team capabilities and accountability.

Customer Success & Advocacy

  • Ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality customer experiences by championing proactive account management and customer success practices.
  • Establish governance and cadence for quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key clients to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead the implementation of customer advocacy programs, driving retention, loyalty, and referrals through exceptional service delivery.

About You

  • Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance / Engineering / Computer Sciences / Telecommunications / IT or Business Management
  • MBA an added advantage
  • At least 12 years account management experience
  • Telecommunications experience, especially in commercial management, account management is an added advantage
  • PowerPoint presentation development skills
  • Strategic and a very analytical mindset
  • Ability to articulate thoughts in a logical, concise and convincing manner
  • Creative and financially savvy
  • Attention to detail and meticulous
  • Excellent communicator and strong ability to influence
  • Outgoing, extroverted and able to engage / build business relationships with C-suite audiences
