[Job purpose]:
The Fugee School is seeking a Head of Education to assume a key role in providing strategic leadership and guidance in the formulation and execution of educational programs. In this capacity, the role will involve building upon and realising the school's existing strategic objectives for educational initiatives and expansion. The Head of Education will work in collaboration with the Principal, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership capabilities, a structured approach, and meticulous attention to detail to lead us to new heights.

Job Role Main Function
Programmatic delivery: develop, manage and execute.
- Complete, implement and assess Fugee School 2.0 curriculum by 3rd academic term 2024. Monitor, assess and improve the curriculum and implementation.
- Develop the Fugee School Tool Kit model. Aim for 1st pilot by second quarter 2024.
Other functions
- Finance and budgeting oversight: Provide financial and budgetary oversight for all relevant Fugee School programmes
- Human resource process monitoring:Ensure that human resource processes are effectively implemented within Fugee School programmes
- Collaboration and coordination:Foster communication and collaboration with the Head of Higher Education programs to ensure synergy and alignment across the organisation.
- Contribution to organisational growth: Play an integral role in contributing to the strategic growth of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Educational Strategy: At the start, oversee and manage the implementation of the strategic goals. Align strategic goals with the mission and goals of the organisation. This includes developing long-term plans, educational philosophies, and growth strategies.
- Curriculum and toolbox Development: Lead the design and development of an educational curriculum tailored to the unique needs of refugee students. Set academic standards, and determine teaching strategies that foster holistic learning and development. Develop strategic goals and KPI's and implementation plans for the toolbox outreach programme.
- Partnership Development: Identify and establish partnerships with organisations, governmental agencies, and community groups that can enhance the school's educational offerings and resources. Collaborate with partners to leverage opportunities for student enrichment and support.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the educational programs, making data-driven decisions to enhance student achievement and well-being.
- Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the team to manage resources effectively, ensuring that funds are used efficiently to support the educational goals of the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with local and national education regulations: Ensure that the school is in compliance with local and national education regulations, including laws related to school safety, student privacy, and curriculum standards.

- Strategic planning and visioning: the ability to analyse complex situations, think creatively and develop plans to achieve specific objectives that align with the organisation's mission, vision, and values.
- Project management: The ability to plan, organise, and oversee projects to ensure they are executed on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards.
- Educational Leadership and Management: Proven ability to provide leadership and direction in the development and implementation of an educational programme. Demonstrated experience in managing a school or educational programme.
- Budgeting: the ability to regularly monitor budget execution to ensure that expenditures remain within budgetary limits and that budget goals are achieved.
- Curriculum Development and Implementation: Proven ability to develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students. Strong knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
- Technology literacy: the ability to use technology effectively in the classroom, develop digital literacy skills in students and teachers, and keep up with new educational technologies and trends.
- Data analysis and evaluation skills: the ability to collect and analyse data on student performance, teacher effectiveness, and other key metrics, and use this information to drive continuous improvement in the school's operations.
Qualifications:
Educational Background
- A Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field is highly desirable.
- A background in curriculum development, educational administration, or a relevant discipline.
Experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the education sector, such as serving as a Head of School, Director of Education, or a similar position.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing educational programs.
- Proven ability to lead collaboratively, fostering an inclusive and participative work environment where ideas are shared, and team members feel empowered.
