Are you a visionary Database Director or Enterprise DBA Leader who has mastered the complexities of large-scale infrastructure in regulated industries We are seeking an elite technical leader to take full operational and strategic ownership of our Enterprise Database Platform Engineering roadmap!

This is a high-impact, permanent executive role where you will lead database modernization, establish a DevOps/DataOps culture, and champion the next generation of AI-driven database operations (AIOps).

Requirement Note: This position is strictly open to Local Malaysian citizens only for a Permanent role.

Role Overview:

• Position: Head of Enterprise Database Platforms / Director of Database Engineering
• Experience Baseline: 12+ Years in Enterprise DB Roles | 5+ Years in Senior Leadership
• Primary Tech Pillar: Oracle (19c+), Exadata / ExaCC, OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
• Multi-Platform Scope: MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL/YugabyteDB, MySQL/MariaDB, IBM DB2
• Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Permanent)

️ Your Executive Mission:

• Enterprise Architecture: Define end-to-end reference architectures across on-prem, hybrid, and OCI environments, steering the adoption of cloud-native and distributed SQL (YugabyteDB).
• Operational Accountability: Retain ultimate accountability for the 24x7 stability, zero-downtime patching, and disaster recovery readiness of business-critical data assets.
• AIOps & Modernization: Champion AI-assisted operations (Oracle OEM extensions) for automated anomaly detection, predictive workload modeling, and self-healing systems to slash MTTR.
• Database DevOps / DataOps: Transition the database operating model to an automation-first paradigm using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines for schema deployments, and self-service provisioning.
• Security & Regulatory Governance: Enforce database hardening, encryption, and strict data protection controls that consistently ace internal security audits and external regulatory mandates.
• Leadership & Vendor Governance: Manage, coach, and elevate a high-performing squad of DBAs while managing strategic relationships with global platform vendors.

Who We Are Looking For:

• The Tech-Visionary Leader: 12+ years managing enterprise environments (ideally Banking, FinTech, or highly regulated sectors) with 5+ years driving strategic platform scale.
• Oracle Elite: Deep, practical domain authority over Oracle 19c+, Exadata, and ExaCC infrastructure. Having an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation is a major advantage.
• Automation Minded: Solid foundation in scripting (Python, Shell) and IaC/orchestration philosophies to eliminate manual administrative overhead.
• C-Suite Communicator: A master at translating complex data architecture risks and modernization benefits into compelling business outcomes for senior stakeholders.
