Job Description

Our client is a Malaysia-based, membership-driven organisation operating within the financial services ecosystem. It works closely with board directors and senior industry stakeholders, focusing on advancing governance standards, strengthening board effectiveness, and fostering collaboration at the leadership level.

We are partnering with the organisation to appoint a Head of Corporate Services, a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing finance, corporate governance, and operational support functions.

This is a broad, hands-on position in a lean environment, with a strong emphasis on financial leadership, alongside responsibility for corporate administration, stakeholder management, and selected HR processes. The role will work closely with senior leadership and engage regularly with Board members.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Governance

  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow oversight
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior leadership and the Board
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insights
  • Oversee audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance processes
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, advisors, and financial institutions

Board & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support Board and committee engagements, including preparation of financial reports, papers, and presentations
  • Interface with Board members and senior stakeholders on organisational performance and priorities
  • Assist in governance processes, including documentation, coordination, and follow-ups
  • Act as a trusted advisor on financial and operational matters

Corporate Services & Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organisation
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and landlords
  • Lead contract management, including negotiation and oversight of service agreements and leases
  • Ensure smooth functioning of office operations, procurement, and facilities

HR & People Administration (Selective Scope)

  • Manage employment documentation, including offer letters and contracts
  • Oversee onboarding processes for new hires
  • Support HR administration and liaise with external HR service providers where applicable

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline; professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are advantageous
  • Approximately 15 years of experience, with a strong foundation in finance and exposure to corporate operations
  • Proven experience operating in a broad, hands-on role within a lean or resource-constrained environment
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including Board-level audiences
  • Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and financial controls
  • Prior exposure to membership-based organisations, non-profits, or regulated environments will be an advantage
