HEAD OF FINANCIAL STRATEGY
JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Financial Strategy is responsible for overseeing financial forecasting, investment risk assessment, and ensuring accounting compliance. This leadership role drives the development and execution of the organisation's long-term financial strategy by providing strategic insights, optimising resources, and guiding key financial decisions.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and strict compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Safeguard organisational assets and resources by optimising Return on Investment (ROI) while maintaining appropriate risk and security measures.
- Drive performance improvement and sustain high productivity within the finance function.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, government agencies, investment partners, and key clients.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to improve overall financial performance.
- Ensure that all budget proposals align with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Monitor financial performance against plans, analyse business outcomes, and assess market conditions to refine forecasts.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer in both strategic and operational decision-making through regular financial analysis and reporting.
- Oversee pricing strategies for products or services by analysing cost structures, market trends, and competitor pricing.
- Perform any other duties or ad hoc assignments as directed by the Chief Financial Officer or relevant stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management and strategic planning.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience, including at least 10 years in a managerial role, preferably within the telecommunications or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and forecasting methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving business environments.
