Position Overview
The Head of Human Resources will lead the company's people strategy, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives while building a high-performing and accountable workforce. This role strengthens recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, HR operations, and organisational development – professionalising a function that currently sits with individual staff members without strategic oversight. The successful candidate is proactive, commercially minded, and capable of building scalable HR processes independently within a growing technology company, rather than waiting to be directed.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals
- Partner with business leaders to improve workforce effectiveness
- Drive organisational culture and employee engagement initiatives
Talent Acquisition
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment
- Improve recruitment processes and hiring efficiency
- Build employer branding initiatives
- Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning
Performance Management
- Lead company-wide performance management processes
- Improve KPI and appraisal frameworks
- Coach managers on performance conversations
- Drive employee accountability
HR Operations
- Review and improve HR policies and procedures
- Ensure payroll, compliance and employee documentation are managed effectively
- Improve HR systems and reporting
Learning & Development
- Identify capability gaps
- Implement leadership development initiatives
- Support succession planning
Employee Relations
- Handle employee relations matters
- Support managers on disciplinary and performance issues
- Promote a positive, high-performance culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related discipline
- 5–8 years of HR experience, ideally having built or matured an HR function from a fragmented starting point
- Experience leading HR in technology or fast-growing organisations
- Strong recruitment background
- Experience designing performance management frameworks
- Knowledge of Malaysian employment law (Employment Act 1955, EPF, SOCSO, LHDN)
- Strong business partnering skills – able to connect HR initiatives to commercial outcomes
- High autonomy and initiative; not suited to someone who needs close direction
- HRIS experience preferred
