We are seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function in a dynamic and project-driven organisation within a capital-intensive, project-focused industry.. The role requires a strategic leader who can also be hands-on, with strong capabilities in workforce management, compliance, and organisational development.
Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, and succession management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on all people-related matters.
Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Lead end-to-end recruitment to attract top talent across corporate, project, and site functions.
- Strengthen employer branding to compete effectively in the industry.
- Design retention strategies to reduce turnover in critical roles.
Performance & Rewards
- Implement robust performance management systems linked to business outcomes.
- Review and align compensation, benefits, and incentives with industry benchmarks.
- Drive a culture of accountability and high performance.
Learning & Development
- Identify training needs and implement learning programs for technical, managerial, and leadership skills.
- Develop future leaders through structured talent development initiatives.
- Promote continuous learning and career growth.
Industrial Relations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Establish fair employee relations practices and grievance management procedures.
- Guide on disciplinary matters and industrial disputes.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture across office and site operations.
- Design engagement initiatives to enhance morale and productivity.
- Promote employee well-being and workplace safety.
HR Operations & Digitalisation
- Oversee payroll, HR administration, and HRIS systems.
- Leverage data and analytics for decision-making (e.g., turnover, productivity, training ROI).
- Drive HR digital transformation to improve efficiency and transparency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 10 year HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Proven track record in project-driven, capital-intensive industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and industrial relations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Fluent in English and local Chinese dialect(s) preferred.
- Malaysian citizen.
