Role Overview
The Head of IT will be responsible for leading the company's IT strategy with a strong emphasis on process automation, systems integration, and digital transformation to support manufacturing and business operations. This role will drive efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making through automation, smart systems, and modern enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Automation Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT and automation strategy aligned with business objectives to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and scalability.
- Identify, design, and implement end-to-end process automation across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and administrative functions.
- Drive continuous improvement through digitisation, workflow automation, and elimination of manual processes.
Systems & Enterprise Applications
- Lead the implementation, enhancement, and integration of ERP, MES, WMS, SCM, and other enterprise systems.
- Ensure seamless integration between operational systems, automation platforms, and business applications to enable real-time data visibility.
- Oversee data governance, system reliability, and performance optimisation.
Industry 4.0 & Smart Manufacturing
- Champion the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, automation systems, data analytics, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Partner with operations to enhance production automation, traceability, predictive maintenance, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Leverage data and analytics to support operational insights and decision-making.
IT Infrastructure, Security & Governance
- Oversee IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, and cybersecurity to ensure secure, stable, and scalable operations.
- Establish and enforce IT governance, policies, cybersecurity standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management plans.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Work closely with senior leadership, plant operations, and external vendors to deliver IT and automation initiatives successfully.
- Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining service quality.
Job Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications are an advantage (e.g. ITIL, PMP, CISSP, AWS/Azure, Automation-related certifications).
Experience & Technical Competencies
- Strong experience in process automation, systems integration, and digital transformation, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on exposure to:
- ERP & MES implementation and optimisation
- Business process automation (RPA, workflow platforms, low-code/no-code solutions)
- Industrial automation and smart manufacturing systems
- Data analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts such as IoT, data integration, and digital manufacturing is highly desirable.
