Job Description

We are hiring on behalf of a client, Oil & Gas (Malaysia)

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

  • Deliver strong leadership to the InfoTech team at the asset level, fostering collaboration and high-performance while ensuring total support to InfoTech & Digitalisation guidelines for the Group.
  • Mentor, supervise, and guide InfoTech team members to enhance execution.
  • Develop growth strategies for direct reports, ensuring performance excellence through objective settings and regular performance / progress review.
  • Effectively allocate resources and manage workload distribution within the InfoTech team.

Strategic Leadership

  • Support the InfoTech and Digitalisation strategy in conformance with the overall Group's strategy, business objectives and long-term goals.
  • Support and provide (if needed) technology to improve operational efficiency, cost savings, decision making, and competitive advantage.
  • Support the Group's technology transformation and digital strategy.
  • Manage InfoTech projects and be accountable for project delivery, including timelines and budgets. Ensure proper resource allocation and adherence to corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Support implementation of corporate IT Procedures, measuring conformance, and promoting internal awareness of IT controls and security.
  • Lead and drive synergy opportunities initiatives to optimise overall IT cost.

ERP Implementation and Management

  • Assist the planning, implementation, and management of ERP systems, ensuring alignment with business processes.
  • Collaborate with the Country Head Malaysia & Vietnam and other Functional Heads / leaders to define ERP requirements, oversee customisation, and drive successful deployment for an optimal cost / benefit ratio.
  • Ensure that solutions meet the business capabilities and functional requirements within enterprise IT standards, fostering engagement and buy-in.

Cybersecurity and Compliance

  • Implement and uphold robust cybersecurity measures in compliance with Group direction to safeguard sensitive data, systems, and networks, while mitigating security risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data protection, privacy, and security.

Information Management

  • Establish and implement robust data governance practices to maintain accuracy, integrity, and security of data.
  • Oversee the design and management of data repositories, data analytics, and reporting systems to provide actionable insights.

Digital Transformation

  • Support the execution and monitoring of digital transformation initiatives across various business functions as defined by Group.
  • Collaborate with the Country Head Malaysia & Vietnam, Group Digital Head and other Functional Heads / leaders to identify processes that can be optimised through digital solutions, including automation.
  • Foster an innovation culture by promoting for the adoption of digital tools and solutions.

IT Infrastructure and Operations

  • Support the operations of the IT infrastructure, maintenance, and enhancement of networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement best practices for IT service management, security, and disaster recovery to safeguard critical business operations.
  • Ensures 24x7 IT service delivery and support, including supply base and offshore sites.

Technology Architecture

  • Assist and collaborate to define and maintain a scalable and adaptable technology architecture aligned with the business's long-term goals.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends for potential adoption.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with external technology partners and vendors to evaluate, select, and implement third-party solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) for quality and cost-effectiveness.

Health, Security, Safety & Environment (HSSE) Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe work practices, ensuring the safety of all individuals in the workplace.
  • Ensure HSSE Management System, policies, and legal requirements under area of responsibilities are communicated, implemented, and complied with areas of responsibility.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety, and the safety of others affected by the department's activities.
  • Promote safe behavior, report hazards and incidents, and support HSSE programs.
  • Attend HSSE training and participate in safety meetings and workplace inspections as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is beneficial.

Experience

  • Over 10 years oil and gas industry experience, especially Malaysian PSC environment.
  • Strong understanding of digitalisation trends, technologies, and their applications in the oil and gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
