About the Opportunity
Our client, a multinational organisation with a strong presence across the Asia-Pacific region, is seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead their technology strategy and operations in Malaysia. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic IT professional who can bridge business needs with digital solutions, while overseeing service delivery, vendor relationships, and a team of IT managers.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the technology direction of a large, growing organisation and act as a trusted advisor to country and regional leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Strategic Business Partnering: Work closely with sales, marketing, customer service, supply chain, and finance teams to understand business priorities and translate them into effective IT solutions.
- Digital Transformation: Identify and drive opportunities to improve business processes through CRM, automation, AI, data analytics, mobile tools, and e-commerce platforms.
- IT Demand & Priority Management: Evaluate and prioritise IT initiatives based on business value, urgency, and strategic alignment.
- Change Management: Lead user adoption of new digital tools through training, communication, and structured change management practices.
- Regional Collaboration: Partner with regional IT delivery teams (applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity) to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality solutions.
- Vendor & Budget Oversight: Manage external vendors, project costs, service levels, and return on investment.
- Country IT Leadership: Act as the key IT advisor to country leadership, driving service adoption and improvements in service delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the organisation.
- Project Execution: Collaborate with regional teams to deliver country-level projects aligned with broader organisational standards.
- People & Resource Management: Build career development plans for team members and strengthen organisational capability through talent growth.
- Financial Planning: Prepare the annual IT business plan, manage expenses against targets, and monitor variances.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of experience delivering IT services within an enterprise environment, with strong exposure to business partnering, transformation initiatives, and people leadership.
- Strong business acumen with a customer-first mindset and solid organisational capability.
- Excellent communication skills, with cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively across diverse, multinational business environments.
- Proven track record in people leadership, with a passion for building and developing high-performing teams.
- A proactive self-starter with strong ownership, initiative, and accountability.
