Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Head of Manufacturing (based in Batu Pahat, Johor).
What are the Job Responsibilities
- Manages the overall Industrial activities including the directing, advising and managing of direct and indirect subordinates to ensure strong team performance.
- Provide leadership for the successful day to day operations of facility.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
- Manage long-term strategic plans and tactical implementation of production systems
- Determine optimum manufacturing processes and raw material usage
- Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
- Encourage and promote operating in continuous improvement environment
- Ensure the product meets the food legislation and legal requirements as per standard.
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
- Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
- Provide strong support for new product strategies
- Establishes performance expectations, monitors against expectations and provides necessary feedback to team members to enhance their growth in position and promotional opportunities
- Coordinates plant profit forecasting and operating statements involving production estimates, raw material cost, labor cost, supplies, machinery maintenance and repair, etc. to keep plant operating at a profitable margin and losses at minimum.
- Ensures maintenance of equipment are safe and clean work environment
- Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the ISC Director.
What are the Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management /engineering or related field with 5 10 years experience.
- Related working managerial and supervisory skills at a manufacturing facility, preferably in within the food industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory processes.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
- Highly motivated, results oriented, driven
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Good communication and organization skills
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
