Head of MGA/ Casualty/ Financial Lines (Vice President)

Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd, a general reinsurance company, is sourcing for suitable candidates to fill an Underwriting position as Head - MGA/ Casualty/ Financial Lines (Vice President).

This is a senior role reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer. The incumbent will responsible for

Underwriting

Underwrites MGA and Facultative casualty and financial lines risks including as a 4-eye referral point for financial lines and casualty classes for other divisions.

People Management

• Guides the team on underwriting risk exposure analysis including motivating team to achieve higher standard of performance.
• Supervise subordinate's day to day activities.

Training

Conducts training periodically internally (underwriters, claims) and external (Clients).

Marketing

Generates business through marketing efforts for MGA, Casualty and Financial Lines risks.

Portfolio Management

Assists the CUO in managing the portfolio through performance management reports and usage of analytics to optimize the portfolio.

Strategy Construction and Execution

• Contribute to construction of strategy, execute, and monitor business plans.
• Focus on continuous process improvements to achieve higher operational efficiency.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in any related field.
• Have a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in the related function.

Knowledge/ Skills

• Treaty underwriting assessment including knowledge of Long Tail, Short Tail, Proportional
• Pricing Tool Fundamentals
• Casualty (CGL, Products Liability) Financial Lines facultative risks assessment (D&O, PI, BBB,
• Medmal)
• Intermediate to expert level of Excel with extensive usage of pivot tables, pivot charts and ability to cut and slice data from our internal booking system.
