Purpose of the position
Planning, organising, implementing and controlling the activities of the plant engineering department in line with the company's established set values, goals and objectives, safety and quality policies and standards
Act as a local POL to represent country to address all plant engineering related matters with external stakeholders ie LEMY, LECN, regional/APAC POL, etc
Principal responsibilities
Instils the importance of safety in every staff and achieve zero accident in area of responsibility
Support implementation and compliance of Quality, Safety and values of the company
Local POL representative at country level
Develop technical core competencies that will ensure use of competitive advantage
Lead all plant engineering projects and pipeline projects related to new wins from bulk/tonnage/electronic segments.
Lead the improvement projects in production facilities
Lead plants experiencing operational problem
Support the timely installation of needed production facilities so that the capacity can meet the market demand
Aspire to achieve best practice performance in areas of customer technical service, safety, quality, technology and innovation so as to create a competitive advantage in these areas
Work jointly with Sales and Marketing on technical feasibility studies and costing for on-site plant conversion for existing customers and implement effective project management system for those identified products and service requirements
Work jointly with Sales and Marketing on technical feasibility studies and costing for new investment projects
Ensure that all the capital expenditures are budgeted within every fiscal year as required
Ensure compliance of all projects to national as well as logical legislative and Linde requirements
Provide an environment where every employee is willing to contribute to the success of the company and commits and practices the set of values of the company and ensure utmost satisfaction of the customers needs and expectations.
Supporting the engineering team to contribute to the productivity, TQM and safety aspirations and the vision of the company
Support the Engineering Management of Change process in the country
Ensure that there is a continuous availability of personnel that are qualified to meet the present and future requirements of the company through systematic replacement of the retiring and resigning employees
Training and development of high potential staff to have an effective succession plan
Ensure access to the technology of the company and its dissemination and application internally
Ensure compliance and achievement of performance standards in all engineering projects and initiatives
o Promote Site-safe program
o Report and investigate hazards, accidents and near misses
o Implement PPE standards
o Implement safe work and emergency procedures
Key interfaces
Interfaces closely with the country operations, Sales and Marketing, Safety, and Quality, consultant, contractors, suppliers and local authorities.

Required qualifications/experience
Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
>8 years experience in the fields of operation, maintenance or project execution in chemical, industrial gases or manufacturing set up
