Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of project managers and business analysts by providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive performance and professional growth.
- Drive strategic alignment by partnering with department heads and project owners to define, prioritize, and execute key initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio management framework, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, resource availability, and organizational priorities.
- Oversee project selection, prioritization, and resource allocation to optimize utilization and ensure successful and timely delivery.
- Monitor overall project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and address potential roadblocks.
- Analyze project financials, including budgets, risks, and resource allocation, to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver PMO reports, including budget updates, to MMC and Group TMO.
- Act as the Group ambassador to ensure the Malaysia project team adheres to project management methodologies, tools, and processes established by the Group PMO, driving consistency and efficiency across initiatives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and project sponsors, to understand business requirements, objectives, and interdependencies.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to manage expectations, secure alignment, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Educational Qualifications & Years of Relevant Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or related PMO/governance credentials are preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a project management role within the relevant industry.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the stockbroking industry and/or financial institutions (FI) sector.
